Our guides will instruct everyone on canoeing techniques and lead the group down the river while sharing the natural and cultural history. Tumalo Creek Walk We’ll experience a magnificent ecosystem alive with fall migratory birds and abundant life amidst the forest trees. Our course takes us through a stunning section of Tumalo canyon following the creek’s crystal waters along which we will witness some of central Oregon’s geology at its best. Smith Rock and Crescent Moon Ranch At world-renowned Smith Rock State Park we’ll make a descent on foot into the Crooked River canyon. We’ll walk along the spectacular riparian habitat to see rock climbers and birds interact on the steep cliffs. Next we’ll journey onto beautiful ranch lands at the base of the Three Sisters mountains making a stop at Crescent Moon Ranch, known for some of the finest alpacas in the country. We’ll learn about the daily workings of the ranch and then visit the alpaca boutique.
