Tournament Courses

The Pacific Amateur Golf Classic – produced by Sunriver Resort – is a three-day, 54-hole, stroke-play tournament, culminating in playoff competition at Sunriver Resort’s Crosswater Course.

All players in all divisions play three rounds of golf, on a different course daily
. One round on each of the three Sunriver Resort golf courses including; Crosswater, Meadows, and Woodlands. Golfers will play the same course with players from their respective Flight. In the Competitive Divisions, the rules as defined by the USGA Rules of Golf will govern play.

Meadows is acclaimed architect John Fought’s latest creation. Meadows features tremendous variety within its 18 holes, seven of which border the meandering Sunriver. Fought’s design pays tribute to the great American golf courses from the 1920’s and 30’s with its aesthetic grace, while its dramatic use of directional and fore-bunkers serve up ample challenges for golfers of all skill levels. The Meadows golf course near Bend, Oregon has played host to numerous USGA and NCAA golf championships, including the NCAA Men’s Division I championship tournament.

Designed by internationally celebrated golf course architect Robert Trent Jones Jr., Woodlands features dense forests of Ponderosa and Lodgepole Pine, outcroppings of lava rock and an abundance of water. Noted by golfers for superb conditioning and its beautiful setting, the Woodlands is one of the Northwest’s finest championship courses.

Honored by Golf Digest as one of “America’s 100 Greatest Courses,” Crosswater is a heathland-style course situated on 600 magnificently scenic acres of woodlands and carefully preserved wetlands. This Oregon golf course features five tee placements for each hole, bent grass fairways and greens and is threaded by the gently flowing Deschutes and Little Deschutes Rivers. In fact, depending on tee selection the rivers can come into play as often as seven times in a round.

To uphold the integrity of the tournament, pairings requests can not be honored. Players can however request to play in the same flight. Players can “play down” in age or handicap to be in the same flight as friends. Example: if four players are coming together and three of them are 10 handicaps and the fourth is a 12 handicap, the 12 can play as a 10 handicap for the tournament so he/she can play in the same flight; likewise someone who is in the Senior, Mid-Senior or Super Senior Division can play down to the Men’s age division. Players can not “play up” in age or handicap.

Tournament Handicaps are assigned based upon a participants handicap index range during the current year. Participants may be assigned a “tournament handicap” that is different than their USGA handicap based upon the lowest index from the current fiscal year or from past year’s scores and/or other factors. Your final tournament handicap will be made available prior to tournament play.  See the Rules page for more information on how Tournament Handicaps are calculated.

The use of caddies is NOT permitted during the Pacific Amateur Golf Classic.

No, but you must have an established handicap with a recognized Golf Association. Examples would be the Southern Nevada Golf Association, Executive Womens Golf Association and the Southern California Golf Association. Contact the Sunriver Resort/PacAm tournament committee if you have questions about whether your handicap is acceptable.
